In this task, students build a deep and flexible understanding of the many ways numbers can be visualized to understand the relationship between them. They also develop an understanding that numbers can be composed in different way to make the whole. Students look at the different representations of the two numbers and highlight what they see using color, arrows, numbers and words. They then make visual representations of different number sentences.
