In-Person, Online Overview
This is a unique and never-before-offered opportunity to spend a week of summer with Jo, Cathy and the youcubed team. This week will be mornings only, so you can dive more deeply into maths with your colleagues in the afternoon, or maybe you want to explore the beautiful California Bay Area with family or friends, or hang out with us chatting about maths! (we will be around most if not all of the afternoon times).
Alternatively you can join us online, ideally with some colleagues, so that you can discuss the learning and do the activities together. If you want you can continue to meet after the morning session as you work together to synthesize and apply your learning to your specific needs.
We will share with you a Mathematical Mindset Approach – what does that mean for the tasks you use? the questions you ask students? The pedagogy you employ? We know this approach raises achievement significantly and this workshop will mean you leave with the tools to put the approach into action, changing the lives of students and probably yourself!
We will focus our content learning through big ideas – which is aligned with the California Mathematics Framework. If you are wondering how a big ideas approach is implemented and how to support teachers in their implementation, come and spend the week with us.
Space for the in-person experience is limited so book early.
Those who attend (in person or online) will also receive a special opportunity to receive professional learning throughout the school year following the workshop.

Yes. Participants in youcubed virtual workshops receive Professional Development Hours (PDHs), verified by a certificate of completion emailed after the event. As a general guideline, 10 PDHs are typically considered equivalent to 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU), though this may vary by institution.
PDHs are awarded by Youcubed, which is part of Stanford University. Please note that PDHs and CEUs cannot be applied toward any Stanford University degree. The transfer or acceptance of PDHs or CEUs is at the discretion of the receiving institution or organization.
All sales are final, but we understand that unexpected situations can come up. If you’d like to request a refund or transfer of ticket, please email pdinfo@youcubed.org with a brief explanation.
